What Is Acne?
Acne is a common affection, partially determined by genetic factors, observed especially in adolescence but also present in adults.
How Does It Manifests?
Acne is a skin inflammation that leads to the appearance of blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. The main type of acne is called acne vulgaris . It appears mostly on the face area but it can also manifests on the back and arms. It affects almost 90% of all teenagers.
Acne may manifest itself as non-inflammatory, in which there are only whiteheads and blackheads, and inflammatory acne.
How to Prevent Acne?
You cannot really prevent acne but you can keep it under control. Actually, this is the role of any good acne treatment. Acne is an affection you keep under control if you follow some simple rules.
1. Good hygiene - wash your face properly with a cleanser that fits your skin type then apply an acne treatment cream.
2. Do not go to sleep without removing your makeup.
3. Drink 1,5 l of water/day - water is the main responsible with cleansing your body of toxins.
4. Avoid fried and fat food ; also sweets should be eaten with moderation.
5. Exercise - physical activity helps the body ( and skin ) to stay healthy.
6. IMPORTANT : eat food rich in antioxidants every day! Some of the “Super Foods” you should eat on a daily basis are : whole cereals, fruits, spices, blueberries or better yet, Acai.
